My New Role in Mayflower

April 22, 2025 Experience

If someone had told me a year ago that I’d be stepping into a leadership role in my charity organization, I’m not sure I would have believed them. But here I am—honored, humbled, and excited to share that I’ve officially taken on the role of Head of Events at Mayflower.

Mayflower has been more than just a charity to me. It’s a community built on purpose, empathy, and action. It’s where I’ve found meaning in helping others and a sense of belonging in working with people who care deeply about making a difference. Being trusted with this role feels both exciting and a little overwhelming—in the best possible way.

Planning events might sound like handling logistics and calendars (and yes, there’s a lot of that!), but to me, it’s also about vision. It’s about crafting experiences that connect people to our mission, inspire involvement, and raise both awareness and support for the causes we care about. I want every event we put together to have heart—something that leaves people feeling moved, energized, and ready to do more.

I believe I’ll be a good fit for this role not just because I’m organized or creative (though that helps!), but because I truly care. I care about the little details that make something special. I care about my team and how we collaborate. And most of all, I care about making sure our work speaks louder than just words—it shows up in the lives we touch.

This new position is a challenge I’m ready for. I know I’ll learn a lot along the way, and I’m thankful to have the support of an amazing group of people who believe in me. I hope to grow into this role and give it everything I’ve got.
