Organizing Easter Egg Hunts for children at my host family’s church

April 23, 2025 Experience

This Easter, I had the wonderful opportunity to organize an Easter Egg Hunt at my church for the kids—and it turned out to be one of the most heartwarming experiences I’ve ever had.

Planning everything took time and teamwork. From gathering colorful plastic eggs and filling them with candies and little surprises, to mapping out fun hiding spots around the church grounds, I wanted to make sure the event felt magical for the children. I also made sure everything was safe, organized, and exciting so every child could join in and feel included.

When Easter Day finally arrived, seeing the joy on the kids’ faces made all the effort completely worth it. They showed up with baskets in hand, full of energy and laughter. The moment we gave the signal to start the hunt, they rushed out, giggling, shouting, and searching high and low. Some teamed up, some competed, but everyone had fun.

What touched me the most was seeing the older kids helping the younger ones, and how the parents and church members came together to cheer them on. It reminded me that Easter is not just about tradition—it’s about community, kindness, and shared joy.

Being able to bring smiles to these kids and create a memory they’ll hold onto—that’s what made this Easter so special for me. It reminded me why I love being involved in my church community and why I enjoy taking on responsibilities that bring people together.

I hope this becomes a tradition we continue every year. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about eggs and candy—it’s about love, laughter, and celebrating the true spirit of Easter.
