Training for Track & Field
Training for track & field is no joke. Now that I’m on the varsity team, every practice feels like a test of endurance, strength, and mental toughness. I thought I was in decent shape from working out on my own, but training with a team is a whole different level.
Each session includes a mix of sprints, long runs, strength training, and technique drills. The coaches push us hard, making sure we improve every day. At first, my body felt exhausted, but I quickly learned that recovery is just as important as training. Stretching, hydration, and proper nutrition have become a big part of my routine.
One of the best things about training is the team environment. Everyone pushes each other to be better, and the motivation is contagious. Even though track & field can feel like an individual sport, having teammates makes a huge difference.
The more I train, the more confident I feel. I’m still new to this, but every sprint and every drill brings me closer to becoming the best athlete I can be.
